Renovation substrates first
- Existing ceramic or porcelain tile can stay only if its adhesion, joints and stability have been assessed. The tiled-surface kits pair Primer Beton with mesh for that case.
- Mixed substrates in older homes, such as patched plaster beside new board, may need reinforcement over joints and repairs even when the main wall is sound.
- Before refacing a bathroom, have the responsible trades assess waterproofing, falls, drainage and movement joints. Do not assume an existing membrane remains compliant or intact. A decorative kit replaces none of these requirements.
Season and site conditions
- Cool, damp periods slow curing. Do not start the next coat until the substrate and the preceding coat meet the cure and moisture requirements in the system guide.
- Warm, dry days and heated or draughty rooms can shorten working time. Follow the temperature limits in the current technical data, not a fixed schedule.
- Plan heating, ventilation and access with the builder so the surface is protected through the full cycle.
