A microcement finish needs a stable, sound, suitably dry receiving surface. Assess that wall before choosing colour or texture, and include the preparation requirements in your material enquiry.

Larger aggregate with fibre reinforcement, giving a more textured, naturally pitted surface. Used across walls, dry interior floors, benchtops and assessed pools. Application guide
Older masonry and moisture
- Rising or residual moisture, salts and loose render in older walls must be assessed and treated before a decorative system is applied. Microcement does not cure a damp wall.
- Patched areas, cracks and transitions between old and new materials may need reinforcement. Mesh does not replace movement joints or structural repair.
- If the substrate is unsuitable, pause the specification and seek technical advice. A different decorative finish is not a substitute for resolving damp or unstable masonry.
Hot spells on site
- Hot, dry conditions can shorten working time and affect curing. Follow the temperature limits in the current technical data.
- Do not start the next stage until the substrate and the preceding coat meet the cure and moisture requirements in the system guide.
- Protect fresh work from direct sun, wind and heat sources through the full cycle.
