Choosing a decorative wall finish

Compare Cemento 3D, MicroCem-FB, LimeWash Paint, Marmorino + Lime, ArchiMetal and Marblex Mirror by surface character, method, pricing status and the decisions to make before ordering.

G-01 Wall finishes

Six ranges in the catalogue can finish an interior wall. They differ in what they are made of, how they are applied, what they look like up close, and whether they carry a listed price or are quoted. Start with the surface you want, then check the method and the constraints.

Decision points

  • Continuous with floors or benchtops: only Cemento 3D and MicroCem-FB run across walls, floors and joinery within a specified system. The lime, metal and marble ranges are wall and decorative coatings.
  • Smooth or textured microcement: Cemento 3D reads smoother and marble-like; MicroCem-FB has larger aggregate and a more pitted surface.
  • Matte mineral wall without a trowelled build: LimeWash Paint is brushed and breathable. Marmorino + Lime is trowelled and gives a denser plaster surface.
  • Reflective statement surface: ArchiMetal (real metal, polished) or Marblex Mirror (mirror-polished marble effect). Both depend heavily on applicator workmanship.
  • Budget certainty now: the two microcement materials and their kits carry listed AUD prices. The other four are priced by quotation, with Australian pack availability, freight and lead time confirmed then.

What each range does not do

  • None of these ranges is a waterproofing membrane. Bathroom and shower use needs compliant waterproofing and a project-specific specification.
  • LimeWash Paint is wall paint, not a floor coating or microcement.
  • Marmorino + Lime uses its own application and protection cycle. Do not substitute microcement instructions.
  • ArchiMetal is not a structural metal sheet and is not assumed suitable for floors, permanent water exposure or food-contact surfaces.
  • Lime, metal and marble ranges are not priced through the microcement estimator.

Before you order

Approve a physical sample of the exact combination under your own light. Custom sample boards for microcement are listed at $11.00 each; samples of quoted ranges are arranged with the quotation. Keep the approved sample with the project documents.

Prices are AUD catalogue estimates, not quotations. Freight, tools, labour and substrate work are extra. Confirm the current technical data sheets and a physical sample before specifying.
